Half of me is under the impression that this is the Hart family trying to get ISU to pony up some of that newly found NIL cash.

All I can say is take a lot of the NIL offers you hear with a grain of salt.

Between players getting stiffed and it actually being a buyers market (over 2500 players in the portal between D1/D2), there is a finite amount of money and a finite amount of spots. As I've said, if a player that didn't get PT can get himself $100k, he needs to sign that deal right now before the spot gets taken. Odds are if you don't see someone immediately jump at it, it could be conditional or not quite the numbers being thrown out.

Hart to Indiana State only ever had anything to do with Graves being of staff (one) and Graves being considered for the HC vacancy (two).

The Hart family seemed to even be trying to prop of Joey Hart senior for a potential assistant coaching spot in lieu of a larger NIL deal. You can’t make this shit up.

Assuming some of the numbers I have heard for Hart are true - then he won’t be coming here and he shouldn’t. Go get a bag while you can. It won’t be here for 6 figures no chance.

From a Terre Haute outsider looking in, it's starting to seem like the kid has some unfortunate baggage. I was on the Joey Hart train but have since fell off

Assuming he wasn't getting six figures offers from P5s or Ball State threw their entire NIL at him?

How could Hart have used up a red shirt at Kentucky? He was always listed as an active player and saw limited time occasionally in mop up roles, but doesn't a red shirt require that the player declare himself a red shirt and not eligible for play prior to the conference schedule? How can Travis David make this assertion?

Redshirts can't play in more than four games or 30% of the season's total games, whichever is greater. They played in 33 so 33 x .3 = 9.9 and he played in 7 so he's eligible for a redshirt.

So do you have to declare beforehand or can you retroactively redshirt?

I don't think you have to declare anything. At long as you don't pass the threshold by the end of the year, you qualify. Don't know if anything the compliance office has to do at the conclusion of the system. Would be a good Q for Joel -- SycamoreRules.

My question would then be of course shetlar and daughtry. Were they In more than 30% of our games?
