Well two exhibition games into his University of Kentucky career. First game ZERO minutes in an 8 point win over Germany. Game two, a whole whopping TWO minutes of mop up time in a 24 point blowout of Canada.

Well it is Kentucky… It’s either:

1. A long term commitment that hopefully pays off.

2. Portal entry next year with Kentucky next to his name. A year to develop his game and likely go to another P5 school.

I’ve made a lot of posts in this thread… A lot. I want to get way out ahead of this just in case. 🤣

Joey Hart just won the slam dunk contest at Kentucky’s midnight madness sort of event in front a lot of fans and live on the SEC network. I watched his dunks and they weren’t boring to say the least. He played the other night in an exhibition and shot it pretty well.

I wasn’t a believer. A lot of it was around the timing but generally speaking I was just like hard pass probably better for both player and program. Im sort of second guessing this right now. In fact, I’m second guessing it quite a bit.

Either he’s a PTP’r or Kentucky suckssss

If anyone has been checking on Harts minutes out of curiosity lately like I have since we recruited him pretty hard.....they have been ZERO. Even with blowouts against non-conference opponents in Rupp Arena that are extremely lopsided from the opening tip, Hart has never seen the floor. I was really wondering what caused him to commit to Central Florida, a million miles from home and family, then de- commit to go to Kentucky to sit on the bench. Unless there are major injuries this year, it looks like he will never see the floor this season. What gives? I like to talk basketball with any local fan I come into contact with when I go to watch us play at Hulman Center. Living in Carmel, I have never seen him play. I am pretty sure Lansing offered Lincoln Hale, hoping that would sway Hart to follow. I know this is only conjecture, but if he goes into the portal and we were able to pick him up, would we be able to fit him into our lineup???

I needed to mention in my previous post that almost everyone I have spoken with who have seen him play for Linton-Stockton insists that Hart is an elite player and would fit into just about any Division One Program. And I'm talking about long time fans who watch a lot of High School Basketball including some former coaches.

We were in on him - he had it down to Kentucky and Indiana State. His mother posted on here in this very thread I think on the regular. I’m pretty sure Graves has a really good relationship with the family. He wanted to go SEC not much more we could do. Do I think we would be in on him again if he hits the portal? Maybe but he might have to sit out a year as that would be the second time he hits the portal. We were in on Conwell initially and he ended up here once he hit the portal so anything is possible.

I haven’t seen him play enough to say but if you can make Kentucky’s roster in the first place then you can probably figure it out at Indiana State.

That said, I defer to coach only he really knows.
