Baseball needs 5 more $5+ donations to trigger a $500 challenge.

Basketball needs 19 more $5+ donations to trigger a $20,000 challenge.

Women's basketball needs 10 more $5+ donations to trigger a $1,000 challenge.

Those are the remaining 3 challenges left on the board currently.

If those all get trigger with the accompanying donations, it should be around at or over $100k with any others.

It's worth noting about that $20,000 donation and I've spoke of this before on here. That donation by Junior Sumner is a direct reflection of his relationship with Greg Lansing. Same can be said for several other major donors - Lansing has good relationships with the majority of our largest donors.

This isn't meant to be a jab, but rather a personal challenge. All of those folks that like to call some of our members "too negative" about things -- I see those negative posters on the donor roll but I don't see MOST of you folks.

$5 is all it takes. I'd say you padlocking your wallet is a lot more negative than words from alumni that just expect and demand greatness. You have 10 hours and some change left.

Yep.

Time to put your $5 where your mouth is.

Preferably more, but $5 is better than nada.

Today should sending a resounding message through that athletic department and University - that people do care about Indiana State Athletics and they care in a very big way! But you gotta ask them and you gotta tell them what they're giving toward and you gotta do it right - my guess is this has exceeded the expectations they have set.

Today is what drives me nuts about the Hulman Center project - people wanted to give toward that for it to be done right... I'm not sure today does anything to take away the bitterness I have toward that project - but it certainly should make a few of them re-evaluate things moving forward.

I hereby move for unanimous consent to transfer some of these funds to make a competitive FCS playoff bid if it comes to that. Not the minimum.

We send the football team annually to an FBS team to get waxed in the name of making a few hundred thousand dollars...it isn't fair at the end of the season to say "sorry we can't afford a home game for your playoff appearance....thanks for going to [insert Power 5 Program here] and getting waxed for us though!" A team we send to an FBS contest every year for $250-500k deserves to have the University pony up a competitive playoff bid.

PS: I know, we've almost beat IU and UL wasn't bad this year, and we may beat Kansas next year, but you get my point. And if not for this year have it earmarked for 2019 just in case we're as good as advertised and use it next year.

Unfortunately I think the bid was already due last monday I think. On the other hand, we we happen to get to play SEMO if the minimum was $20,000 and we put in a bid for $20,001 that might get it.

Going forward, if football can build a self-sustaining fan and donation base, this is actually a damn good idea. Escrow 50% of the money game take into a playoff bid fund so when we're in, we can get a home game.

best way to get a home game is be a top 8 seed which we would probably get as a top 2 team in the conference.
