Clinkscales says Kareem Richardson will be a candidate.

Also rumors circulating about David Ragland.

Per OpenPayRolls.com

Kareem Richardson made ~$55,100 in 2019; $55,056.44. This is 3.5 percent lower than the average pay for co-workers and 10.7 percent lower than the national average for government employees.

Could be a good reason why he;s already being mentioned as a candidate

He was at $103k this year with us.

I could see ISU hiring Richardson. Not saying he wouldn't be a good hire but if your going to let Lansing go you better come with something that at least appears to be a better hire than Kareem.

I think UMKC was still paying him for part of 2019, I did see a salary report from the Roos...

Elevating he or Casey would be a good move to keep as many, all of the current roster in place; go outside the current staff and I think we'd see some significant departures, not to mention any incoming recruits

He has experience; in the Valley as an assistant ( and a handful of other peer Conferences), in the "P5" and has a Head Coach - believe he made MORE at UMKC than Lansing did at ISU and consistently won less and lost more than Lansing over his HC tenure however, I'd take him over Ragland at the moment. Clinkscales needs to knock this hire out of the newly renovated Arena...

The move from Hodges to Schellhase gained nothing... 34-47 over Hodges' lasts 3 years to Schellhase's ISU career # of 37-48

Yep, sounds an awful lot like they will be hiring an assistant and that salary will come in, at most, on par with what Lansing was making.

First, I'm sure there is interest. Second, what a tone deaf take. Third, when someone is making $50k, of course they'll be interested in making $75k. You want the candidate making or operating at a $100k salary at your $75k.

Boy, putting this out into the ether is going to make or break Clink at State. He is either being set up by Curtis or he doesn't care anyhow. I'm not using this verbiage in my discussion about the position after just letting Lansing go and the known constraints.

Sure seems that way. I just don't understand the terrible messaging they continue to give at every turn. If I'm asked about the next hire and salary is mentioned, I'm instantly deflecting and highlighting the program strengths:

"You know, I'm excited about the level of candidate we can attract. We play in one of the best mid-major conferences, we have a great history, and we're coming off a major facilities upgrade -- with more in the pipeline. We also believe Greg left an incredible foundation for the next head coach to come in and build upon. I think Sycamore fans will be excited when we make the hire, too."

Just asinine how they're handling this.
