Honestly, the way we've been playing lately gives me NO reason to be confident.....even NIU. We're not putting together a full-game effort. If we would have kept our early game effort (like we started out at Duquesne) then I'd feel differently right now. We must be better......consistently.Bummer loss. I'm already looking past NIU to be 10-3 headed back into the conference slate.
Seems the team cannot be trusted during crunch time.Honestly, the way we've been playing lately gives me NO reason to be confident.....even NIU. We're not putting together a full-game effort. Fingers crossedThey'll get it figured out. Four game road swings are tough. Remember the 86 Celtics? Lost a Christmas Day game at the Garden after blowing a big lead? They then became the greatest team of all time. We might not get to that mountaintop, but we'll figure it out. Just think about how much fun it's gonna be when we learn to keep our foot on the opponent's throat!!!
Jason, did you get a chance to watch a replay against Duquesne and if so your thoughts going forward? We "started" out fantastic....then faded. Our roster is still evolving. We still are several players shy of what HCJS needs to efficiently run his system. Be patient. At 9-3.

If I remember right our ‘01 team that won tournament lost several in a row at the end of the season. Might have a little mixed up.They'll get it figured out. Four game road swings are tough. Yeah, once Voss got T'd up he was done.....and it was looking like he "was" going to have a huge game. Our point guard play wasn't good with Gibson so it seemed Larry played a lot. And, of course we let our former player have his best game to date.Caught bits and pieces of the game when we were in San Diego. Watched the last 4 before half and then about a 7m stretch from around the 9m mark until we lost the lead. We still lack some high level guards. The difference that I saw was when crunch time came around, their guards made shots - Grant, Clark and Rozier and our guys missed 'em.
We need to go out and find an absolute dog at PG. Need a guy that can consistently make shots when we need them. None of our PGs are in the Top 5 in PER on our team. That isn't usually the case.
Damn straight baby! Get on the train or get left behind!!!At 25 years old I walked into the office of the CEO of Union Hospital and told him I wanted a job that was open that I wasn’t qualified for.
He said, what makes you think you’re ready for that job?
I said, if Theo Epstein can be GM of the Red Sox at 28 years old then I’m certain I can handle this job.
He said, oh now you’re Theo Esptein?
So ITF - I ask you (tell you) oh now we’re the 86 Celtics…
I remember losing to Creighton, Southern Illinois on a Dearborn buzzer beater on Senior Night and I believe then Southwest Missouri State. We lost 6 out of our last 7. The loss to Creighton I believe is when we had the current streak of home game victories in division 1 basketball @ 22. My favorite Menser moment was the fuck you three at the end of the first half against them in the 2001 conference tournament from nearly halfcourt. If I remember right our ‘01 team that won tournament lost several in a row at the end of the season. Might have a little mixed up.
It wasn’t just the last several in a row it was a horrible last month. We entered February that year in first place and finished in 5th. I think that team went 2-8 for the month or something like that.If I remember right our ‘01 team that won tournament lost several in a row at the end of the season. Might have a little mixed up.
Hmmm. So several of my observations weren't wrong after all. Go figure. Haters goin' hate.My take-aways.
1. I could see this loss coming around the six minute mark.
2. Voss is a head case.
3. I appreciate Julian Larry playing downhill, but more often than not, he needs to tap-the-brakes, or hit the off ramp.
4. Neese. The greatest...and most useless Pump Faker of All-Time.
5. Is it my TV, or are McKnight's legs really short for a 6' 9" man?
6. Bledson, Voss, Henry and gawd knows who else, need to STOP with the FLEXING.
7. When the head case came back in, I knew we were going to lose, and that he was going to throw up some crazy 3 like it was an ISU Campus Intramural Fraternity game, and he did.
8. Did I mention that Neese's game has gone backwards? Where's that sweet lil turn-around fade away jump shot that he used to have?
9. Henry constantly runs his mouth to the ref's as if it's going to make a difference. He spends most of his time JAWING.
10. Avila needs more minutes, more touches, and if there is one person that needs to take leadership of this team, it's him.
11. Gibson and our other D2 players showing that they are LEGIT D2 players.
