Vorst a hack? You didn’t think much of Julian Larry either. Aaron Carter? A lot of people didn’t like him either.

Relax. I’m not here for that energy tonight bro… I literally said it before the game and then the kid has 4 fouls with 13 minutes to go in the game after logging less than that total. Go argue with yourself.

With the offense playing pretty efficiently I think our defense was much better tonight. Way too many fouls but still better team defense. We seem to have several guys who aren't afraid to try to make a play or the extra pass. We may have the makings of a competitive team yet.

Color me impressed. This team is not the same team I watched a couple weeks ago. Love the development.

And we’ve got some good young talent

Vorst only had one or two days of practice after a long layoff. He will be an asset for us down the stretch, but if JD is going to play like he has the last 4 games overall - he’s going to see a a lot of minutes consistently.

We can all agree to disagree I guess. I think Doughty hand-checked his guy but didn’t make a concerted effort to foul. It should have been obvious and glaring right after he passed the timeline.

I don’t want to harp on this and overlook what was an incredibly hard fought victory. A win is a win, and I’ll take it! We got some huge minutes from nearly the entire roster, and JD put the rest of the Valley on notice.

To win that game with several true freshmen playing crunch time minutes is pretty sweet.

Teel and KD were definitely leaders out there tonight. Refs blew that missed foul on the KD dunk attempt that would have been a big swing in momentum.

We had a 8ish minute span of bad basketball but the other 32 minutes were fun to watch. I’m here soaking it in!

Especially in the Second half.

I was pretty hard up we should foul - I’m not sure what game it was but I believe we have fouled in the past in that situation? Was it the game we fouled but didn’t put a big in the game to rebound and it bit us? I’ve moved on quickly from it for my health.

Anyway… I’m not too hung up on it. I woulda fouled. Either we tried they didn’t call it or we didn’t and we hung on - I will take it (as I know you are too). I’m just not going to be too critical in a game you got the short end from the officials throughout, first Valley game, first road Valley game and your team absolutely competed for 40 that’s everything you want and then some.

That was our best effort of the season and it’s not even close. I don’t care if MoState is good or not good - they just were the better team for 40 minutes and that hasn’t been the case for a lot of the games this season.

Considering about a month ago, I was trying to figure out how we could get to 10 wins, I am thrilled with today’s result. Teel has been a great steady presence and responded well since the SIU-E shit show.
We went from having a rotation of 6 to have tons of tools, but trying to figure out the right combinations. Thought Merritt looked really solid in his few minutes in the 1st half.
JD was a monster in the 2nd half and could have a fantastic career in the MVC.

Great win and hope we can follow it up the same way at home next week!

I didn’t see what you are talking about but he’s been more than a “steady presence” and then some. He’s putting together a historically good campaign while early he’s on a heck of pace.

I didn’t mean to underestimate him…I did add “great” steady presence. 🤣

When you’re shopping the portal as a mid-major, we couldn’t have found a better fit for this team.

Since the Bahamas we have started to play less bad basketball. Now if we can cleanup fouls and turnovers we will be in good shape.
