This was a game we couldnt afford to lose. Pretty pathetic performance for everyone not named Jaden or Samage.

Just not a good execution on that last play didn’t really do anything. Teel shot it like he was expecting a foul.
 
We are down 3 with 18 seconds left and the ball you do 1 of 2 things.

1. be aggressive and get an easy look at the rim. They won't want to foul and it'll be an easy bucket. Foul right away and see if they miss a free throw or 2.

2. Dribble out the clock and run a good set for an open 3 with about 5 seconds left (don't let them foul around the perimeter)

We proceed to chuck up a horrible contested 3 with 14 seconds and no one in position to get a rebound. so dumb

Graves needs to seriously work on his timeout usage. This is another game where we had timeouts left and didn’t use them.

You can’t bank them and use them for the next game!

He should have absolutely called timeout and drew up a play. He’s really good at that so why not do it?!?!?
 
How do fans watch games like this and not want to break a bunch of stuff?.....Seriously, I want to know how to get up, say that sucked and move on with my life. This will have me pissed for hours....I'll wake up mad in the morning and wonder why I care so much.?.?. A day will go by and I'll put myself through it all again the next game. No wonder I look so old. I would feel a lot better about things if I knew we were building pieces for next season....but those good pieces will be gone because we have no money.....its so fun!

2023-2024 Sycamore team: I'm letting them play it out if we have any kind of flow.

2024-2025 Sycamore team: I'm calling a timeout to make sure everyone's shoes are tied.

Graves has to realize that this team is just not in good under pressure, the results speak to that. He needs to use his time-outs if it's coming down to the last possession

Yeah this is annoying me as well.


It's one thing to not take a timeout if we have a super cohesive team of high basketball-IQ players that are great at reading the game flow and situation and making the smart decision in those moments.

...

That's not the team we have unfortunately.

Haha we posted just about the same sentiment at the exact same time. Graves is trying to coach these guys like it's last years team. We don't have the talent or basketball knowledge of that team.
