Good point... But I think when you are talking ACC or Big Ten basketball or SEC football then the conf. plays a major role in the recruiting process. Obviously this does not apply to much to the MVC or Indiana State. But I am suggesting if the MVC contiuely puts 3 + teams in the NCAA tourney then their is no reason schools should not try and sell the fact that they have a better chance to go dancing in March in the MVC than in the Horizon League. Granted if your team is no good this does not matter.

Once again you can't sell a kid to Indiana State because Drake made the tourney last year. I doubt HS kids will be fired up to go to Des Moines and play Drake. Just like kids aren't too excited to go to Wis Green Bay in the Horizion. The fact remains that kids are going to play where their school, not conference schools, have a chance to make the NCAA tournament. Unforutunately, for the Sycamores we aren't the school that is top of the list for most top notch players. Therefore, we have to try and take some chances on kids who might be a top tier player. The problem is we haven't found those diamonds in the rough yet.

All I can tell you is that when I took over the Indiana State program on my son's X-Box, I went 22-8 my first year, and have won at least 27 games each of my four seasons after. I don't know what the big deal is. This coaching thing isn't that hard...

Same here. My Indiana State team is a juggernaut right up there with Duke and North Carolina. Five national titles, countless conference championships. We have the number one recruit in the nation, a 7'6" 300 pd monster. Surely it can't be that hard for McKenna to find players like this.
