Here is a BIG one that I thought responsible Republicans would step away from:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said party leaders need to be more responsive to the base of the party, which she claimed is made up of Christian nationalists.
"We need to be the party of nationalism," she said. "I am a Christian and I say it proudly, we should be Christian nationalists."

Another is the Waffle Man himself: Lindsey Graham - self-serving. Tries to show a backbone, and then waffles to appease the evangelical base.

More are down in Louisiana where they are now required to display the 10 commandments in school:

I just wonder what everyone would think about that if it was required for Jewish, Islamic, Buddhism, etc...

I personally am a big proponent of the separation of Church and State....
The 10 commandments are Jewish.

This thread has made me familiar with the political leanings of some of its most frequent contributors....and for that I can only say that I
wish I had chose not to look. Yes, it is the world we live in. In the future I will stick to ISU sports related threads. Over and out on this one.
maybe but don't confuse/equate distaste, dislike, abhorrence for a candidate, politician for a political philosophy

most of today's 'visible' politicians are shills for a $$; disliking a far-left whack job doesn't mean all issues on the center left are disliked and the reverse; know some far-right politicos would LOVE to strip rights from some Americans but again, not all center right ideas are abhorrent.

I understand that you are not supposed to discuss politics among friends. But I resent posts on here that act like it is not an important topic. No one is forcing anybody to participate. I'm concerned about the future of my kids and grandkids.
I know people think we can control our government at the ballot box.
But, I renewed my license the other day. She asked me if I wanted to register to vote. She said I had to be a citizen.
I know in Arizona, and many other states you do not have to be a citizen to vote. In AZ, you don't even have to be a resident of the
state. We have millions of illegal immigrants registering to vote right now.
How much is your ballot in Indiana going to be worth in the upcoming election?

SMH.... There are a handful of large metro areas that allow people with green cards to vote in LOCAL elections (city, maybe county)

No US State allows non-citizens to vote in Statewide or Federal elections. Does it happen? Yes, but at an infinitesimal level. It should never occur and with better voter registration and ID verification, it can be countered.

No clue where you get your "information," but it reeks of echo chamber sound bites from 1-2 networks.

Did Mr. Lindell provide you with the "evidence" of the "millions of illegals registering to vote right now" with your last pillow purchase?

"Voters who submit their federal voter registration form in Arizona without citizenship proof are only eligible to vote in federal elections.

In 2022, the Arizona legislature tried to make proof of citizenship mandatory for federal elections, but the law was struck down in court. In 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Arizona couldn’t require this for federal elections because it conflicted with federal law.

An Arizona bill passed in 2022 made a second attempt, but it was also struck down, this time by the U.S. District Court of Arizona. State Republicans are appealing the ruling."

I did some research. Apparently, you are supposed to be a citizen but you are not required to show proof. I have heard that Democrats are passing out registration forms to immigrants. Have also heard that they are being paid to register in multiple states.

It's confusing to me. I know in 2020 in AZ over 3% of the voters did not have legal addresses or did not live where they said they did.
In the forensic audit they found hundreds of thousands of suspicious ballots. Remember the big audit they did in AZ?

Are you referring to the 'big audit' led by the Cyber Ninjas who spent thousands of hours looking for bamboo ballots? the 'big audit' that found MORE votes for the Biden/Harris ticket than previously reported?

The big audit that found no evidence of the ghost votes? It's easy to do research. I find it funny how you spout off "fake news this, fake news that. Don't listen to anything about Trump. The media lies" and then say unfounded shit like "I have heard Democrats are passing out registration forms to immigrants blah blah"

Give me a break. If you dislike the left making shit up, then you should dislike the right making shit up. Do actual research, and not just with outlets that you agree with. You'll be AMAZED at what you find, on both sides.

The reality is if we drew up a Venn diagram, the large majority of us on either side would likely be smack dab in the middle circle as either moderate Democrats or moderate Republicans while the vocal minority would be in the far left and far right.

I will say it's too bad media companies are driven by profit because that big center group and their topics don't drive eyeballs and clicks because it's boring. Instead we're hijacked by whack jobs on both sides pushing aggressive nonsense.

umm... the Torah has over 600 commandments... Christians "whittled them down" to 10 and depending on the version of the Christian bible, they are arranged in in different orders

Christians aren't under "the law of Moses" (the Old Covenant), but rather under the "law of Christ" (the New Covenant) prophesied by Jeremiah (31:31). Jesus himself said that he came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill the law. Christians still follow all of the moral laws of "the law of Moses", but Christians do not follow the sacrificial system (because Christ was the ultimate sacrifice), the dietary laws, or any of the Israelite/Jewish traditions defined in the old law.

I have to agree. Anytime Trump gets busted about all The unethical Bull Shit he pulls, all he says is Fake News. 100’s of contractors
were screwed by Trump.

I only deal in facts. If you think I'm wrong look it up or shut your mouth.

You mean like Russiagate? The right had it 100% right 3 yrs before the left admitted it.

By the way. I know I might sound like I'm full of it; but I welcome corrections. I read the article about Trump's company's contractors that was linked and I had to modify the voter citizenship issue to proof of citizenship. Thanks to everybody for not calling me a racist, sexist, white supremicist, or mysogonist 😊. I'll shut up now. i'm done and can't wait until bball season.

What are the "rights" the far right would love to strip away? Just curious.

well for starters...

body autonomy...

right to vote...

whom a person can love openly...

whom a person can marry legally...

the right of a person to use birth control...

well for starters...

body autonomy...
What does that mean?
right to vote...
I believe All American citizens have the right to vote unless they are a convicted felon.
whom a person can love openly...
We should love everyone.
whom a person can marry legally...
So, do you think it's ok for a 10 year old to marry?
the right of a person to use birth control...
I'm not sure this is a right, but it does seem to be acceptable by the majority of Americans.

These are fiction but the left doesn't believe in the 1st, 2nd, or 4th amendments. And isn't there one about a speedy trial? Some J6ers have been held hostage for 2 years.
