IS ANYBODY ELSE BOYCOTTING THE OLYMPICS?

WANTED: Passionate Sycamore Fanatics. That You?

Register NOW to join our community of die-hard Sycamore fans.

The problem I see is that moderate Democrats are too quiet and have allowed their party to embrace the far left.

As a Centralist Republican (primarily based on fiscal responsibility)... I say the exact same thing about "my" Republican party....
It has been taken over by religious zealots - and the hypocrites catering to that population to retain power.

Stuff like this doesn't help AT ALL... and is BY FAR more blasphemous than anything on the Olympics.

MANY years ago, I was watching C-SPAN, and they had two talking head political guys on, and they asked them this question..."If you could select someone from the OTHER party to be president, who would you select. The Democrat said, "I would select an Indiana guy...Dick Lugar". The Republican was next, and he said, "Mine is also an Indiana guy....Lee Hamilton". They discussed how these two guys were PUBLIC SERVANTS, not politicians, and that they would do what they thought was right for ALL of their constituents, even if it angered their party.

THOSE days are LONG gone...

The two absolute WORST candidates for President EVER ran in 2016, IMHO.

Here is a BIG one that I thought responsible Republicans would step away from:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., said party leaders need to be more responsive to the base of the party, which she claimed is made up of Christian nationalists.
"We need to be the party of nationalism," she said. "I am a Christian and I say it proudly, we should be Christian nationalists."

Another is the Waffle Man himself: Lindsey Graham - self-serving. Tries to show a backbone, and then waffles to appease the evangelical base.

More are down in Louisiana where they are now required to display the 10 commandments in school:

I just wonder what everyone would think about that if it was required for Jewish, Islamic, Buddhism, etc...

I personally am a big proponent of the separation of Church and State....

I could do without the Commandments for separation. I like Christians and nationalists. Do you have anything important.
I don't care what someone said.

he was 59-60, not 69.

she was single - correct? poor, POOR decision to have an affair with a married man BUT if the "GOPers" won't hold Trump accountable for his MULTITUDE of affairs... why are they holding this one against her?

affairs are affairs.

Second time posting this?
I appreciate you linking this.
But please understand that the mainstream was lying about Trump all the time.
I know that in 2016 and beyond 98% of the coverage on CNN and MSNBC was negative. My son-in-law was not a fan but was very
statistically minded. I told him if they were not biased the news should be 50-50. 98% negative MUST be bias, by definition.
I remember after his visit to North Korea, Erin Burnett said I think we have to say this is a good thing, don't we.
She really did not want to say it.

If you check old USA Today stories, I'll bet you a coke that they said that he called KKK good people after Charlottesville.
Remember when he said his office was bugged and all the news said he was nuts? 2-3 years later we found out that it was true.

It was amazing that he was such a good President with the media and deep state on his back all the time.

The original intent of this thread was to get in a political debate - it was nevet to talk about boycotting the Olympics for its utterly ridiculous opening ceremonies. That was initially lost on me but it’s clear now - it’s just the world we live in today Inguess.

This thread has made me familiar with the political leanings of some of its most frequent contributors....and for that I can only say that I
wish I had chose not to look. Yes, it is the world we live in. In the future I will stick to ISU sports related threads. Over and out on this one.

Many examples like this. Look, if it makes you feel better, I’m going to vote for him. But, he’s a Dirt Bag like anybody I’ve seen in his position. Just tired of this Democratic Administration.

I understand that you are not supposed to discuss politics among friends. But I resent posts on here that act like it is not an important topic. No one is forcing anybody to participate. I'm concerned about the future of my kids and grandkids.
I know people think we can control our government at the ballot box.
But, I renewed my license the other day. She asked me if I wanted to register to vote. She said I had to be a citizen.
I know in Arizona, and many other states you do not have to be a citizen to vote. In AZ, you don't even have to be a resident of the
state. We have millions of illegal immigrants registering to vote right now.
How much is your ballot in Indiana going to be worth in the upcoming election?

"Voters who submit their federal voter registration form in Arizona without citizenship proof are only eligible to vote in federal elections.

In 2022, the Arizona legislature tried to make proof of citizenship mandatory for federal elections, but the law was struck down in court. In 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Arizona couldn’t require this for federal elections because it conflicted with federal law.

An Arizona bill passed in 2022 made a second attempt, but it was also struck down, this time by the U.S. District Court of Arizona. State Republicans are appealing the ruling."

I did some research. Apparently, you are supposed to be a citizen but you are not required to show proof. I have heard that Democrats are passing out registration forms to immigrants. Have also heard that they are being paid to register in multiple states.

It's confusing to me. I know in 2020 in AZ over 3% of the voters did not have legal addresses or did not live where they said they did.
In the forensic audit they found hundreds of thousands of suspicious ballots. Remember the big audit they did in AZ?
