I wish the DNC allowed a fair Dem primary in 2024, instead of rigging it for Biden. Good chance RFK Jr. wins (imo), & it would be Trump vs. RFK Jr. This would at least provide America with two substantive policy candidates.

I would still lean Trump, but would have gladly given RFK Jr. due consideration.

Climate change simply isn't about just your local temperature. Also, while a specific geographical location may not have any changes, the Earth's core/surface temp has risen. You're also talking about fractional changes that add up over time.

This has led to a plethora of issues -- more severe storms and increased drought are two that are easily observable. If you want anecdotal, living here in Vegas and visiting California a ton, I see and feel it. Hell, I couldn't go outside yesterday because the smoke from California wildfires were blown into the Vegas valley and we were under a smoke advisory. The weather changes have real world consequences, too. Look at all of the insurance companies that are now pulling up shop in California, Florida and other natural disaster areas.

But like I said, we could drastically slow down the effects by simply going heavy into nuclear power. It is the greenest, densest energy on the planet by a country mile. Further, energy abundance makes the World better collectively and drives innovation. With AI, for example, being all the rage right now, the power consumption to run it and train the large language models that power it is IMMENSE. The countries that invest in nuclear will ultimately win that race while not having to rely as heavily on fossil fuels.

I agree with the nuclear stuff. Even if we do have climate change, is it bad? The problem with the activists is they want to spend trillions of dollars to "lower the temperature" 1 or 2 degrees in 50 years and that assumes that the other countries do the same.
I believe in green energy determined by the market. The gov can't afford to do subsidies.

This article might be legit, but I've seen what dems, dem lawyers and dem money can do to attack him. It's painfully obvious what they will do to defeat him. I'm still not sure if they are going to put him in prison.
I wouldn't believe anything in USA today without corroboration.

Look what the dem money did to Kavanaugh. Not to mention all of the other lies they told about Trump in 2016 and on. They gave Mueller $30 million to get anything on him and they got nothing. He is the most investigated President in history.

Not that I was a Bernie fan at all (I like the guy but he was too "progressive") but there is no way you can convince me Clinton beat him in the primaries in 2016. No way. The crowds he was getting, the media attention, he was lightyears ahead of Clinton. The DNC screwed themselves by elevating "one of their own" and it backfired. Seems like the same thing is happening now. Obama was holding out on his "endorsement" of Harris because they know he is the ace in the hole. They waited to see how Harris was going to play and if it wasn't good you can bet your bottom dollar they had someone in the on-deck circle that Obama was going to get behind. Like @Jason Svoboda alluded too, the big tech did their scrubbing of her history (while we are talking about it just google "Donald trump assassination attempt", "assassination attempt on trump", etc. and tell me what pops up. I'll give you a hint; nothing) and pumped her up and it worked, now they are all-in with Obama getting behind her. The DNC has their "good ole' boys" club and they don't even try to hide it

I lean right. But man I wish conservatives would take climate change more seriously. 1-2 degrees is an enormous change when it comes to earths temperatures. Majority of marine life live in cold waters, a few degree temperature difference for the ocean would be catastrophic. Not to mention hurricanes develop in warm waters, that would be a nightmare of millions on people if they keep gaining strength and the season lasts longer. While I do believe that 90% of the issue is corporations, the ultra wealthy, and undeveloped countries (literally dumping their trash into rivers) it needs to be taken seriously from a global standpoint and the good ole' USA if one of the most powerful countries out there.

At the end of the day we are the most invasive species to ever inhabit this earth. I want to leave an enjoyable place to live for my children and the generations to follow them.

Yes, it is bad. Unsolved, it will make less of the planet hospitable which means people will ultimately have to seek new places to set up homestead. If we push people inward, we then will have new issues like farmland and natural resource loss. Depending on what areas become uninhabitable, you could see regional wildlife extinction. I'm a firm believer that all wildlife was put here to self regulate the planet -- ever watched the documentary on wolves and Yellowstone, for example? All of this sort of shit can also drive poverty. It's not just about things being a little hotter.

In any event, nuclear is expensive. However, investment in it to push innovation will have the collateral benefit of being able to lower reliance on fossil fuels and thus helping resolve the climate change issues. That's a win-win and one of the reasons I've become so pro nuclear in the last couple years.

Believe US tax receipts to debt interest expense were single digits prior to 2022, shot to 10% in 2023, and are reported well past 25% in 2024. A recent news article said that some month's interest payments have been 75% of gross tax receipts. Meanwhile every 100 days we're adding 1 trillion more to the national debt. We're in a heap of fucking trouble and people want to worry about how people want to identify.

I know Republicans have been dragged for the idea that they will have to push retirement age, but for anyone that can do basic math, it is the harsh reality that social security is broke and there will not be money there in the future. Once the debt gets to a certain point, medicare will be up next or we'll just turn on the money printer which will further push the debt load.
