Wouldn't mind them overlooking us because of their game later that week with North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Two Indiana boys play for Belmont. I really wished the Turner kid from Bloomington South would have come to ISU. Reminds me of Printy. Lights out from 3 and a decent free-throw shooter. But I guess after everything that happened with Holmstrom, we won't get anyone from Bloomington South anytime soon.

this would be a VERY good win for our program. and quite honestly if we have the team that we think we have, we should win this game.

Turner's dad played @ ISU...maybe it should more accurately be described as that "he was on the roster." He's a Bedrock product...hope his kid has greater CONSISTENCY than Printy had @ ISU AND is not afraid of contact. Ahhh yes, recall Printy's "Lake Erie Kickout" in Cleveland? Good kid, but couldn't play "D", create his own shot off the dribble, or get to the FT line. He feared CONTACT.:sadwave:

Did 6'9" fr. Mack Mercer get any PT against Richmond in Belmont's opener?

UW-Milwaukee def. Davidson in SC tonight, 81-77. Davidson hadn't lost an opening game @ home since '91 & were 120-18 @ home over past decade. Former ISU G Steve McWhorter hit a key basket @ 3 min that put Milwaukee up for good. They only had 8 wins last yr. and were picked 9th in the Horizon pre-season.

Watched UWM at Loyola the other night. I would be really surprised if they finished 9th in the Horizon. I think a big reason they were picked that low is that they lost a majority of their team from last year - but with only 8 wins, sometimes that isn't a bad thing! They did return 3 of their best players, plus added 3 transfers who I believe all start (including McWhorter and PF Matt Tiby, who will be an all-conference selection this year).

I heard that they honored Richie Cunningham at halftime? Every time I hear that name I laugh because I will never forget Wisconsin Milwaukee because "Happy Days" seemingly put W-M on the map.

There's no way Turner was good enough to play here.

Tiby looked good...a smaller "Bill Walton" w/ his hippie-like long hair. Davidson looked tired...perhaps still licking their wounds from the prior Duke game. UMW overcame a 2nd half 11 pt deficit and never backed down in the final 5 min stretch. Big win for them.

Not sure about that...

Bruce Pearl put them on the collegiate hoop map (2001-2005) following a decade @ USI in E-ville. Will be interesting to see where the "wind" takes him next year after serving his NCAA suspension.

BTW...the game was played at Davidson.

You don't think so? I respect your opinion. I watched him torch us in high school. It helps that he had the likes of Jordy Hulls, Dee Davis, and Erik Fromm as well. But he was always really steady for South.
