If the NCAA REALLY felt they way claim - there'd be no transition period.

But as the NCAA isn't a credible source for anything at this time, I don't see myself accepting their perception, their position on 95% of collegiate athletics.
Correction - They wouldn't count as Division 1 wins

NCAA - credible or not it's called the NCAA Tournament. Will always be their way regardless how we feel about that corrupt system until something is done.

What we want to happen - Play good teams only and win them. So if we don't win Conference Tournament we get an At-Large
Reality - Don't worry about who we play and win the Conference Tournament.

Isn't the NABC still running a lot of the NCAA MBB Tournament? The NCAA is the sanctioning body?

At this point; the Valley is a one bid league - it'll take an incredible season and a good deal of luck to get an at-large

And I still feel the "P5" will break away and the NCAA will reshape into another NAIA or USCAA

I too believe the P5 will ultimately leave.......but, more a football driven thing. Still we continue to see the rules molded to the advantage
of the P5 ( wealthy and powerful). It also helps to have broadcasters like Jay Biased to promoted the above mentioned.
Sorry to blather on....thanx for reading.

Honestly I don't know anymore. A bunch a guys in suits with money under the table to make certain things happen is who I picture running it. lol

You're right MVC is a one bid league until most teams win their buy games and do well in the MTE's. Honestly you could say the bottom 4 have to get better because they are majority of the reason why the Conference is where it is this year, Evansville especially. NET of 350 i mean that is an anchor. Including transition teams there are a total of 363 Division 1 Basketball schools.

Eventually they might but interest will drop because the whole reason people watch the tournament is to see the Cinderella stories. Like jben said that's more football driven but I don't even watch college football like that. I do catch an ISU game or two but that's about it.

Students didn't come to games this year... It wasn't because of the seating arrangements. If students want to be engaged and that is what it's going to take - then sure I'm all about it. However, I don't think the seating arrangements are the problem. Oh and it wasn't winning either - because this group won a lot. Granted they gave tickets away and sold them as cheap as they possibly could - but overall I thought attendance was pretty solid this year. We've got more fundamental problems with student turnout than where they sit.
Apathy and a student population cut in half are the problems. My students literally did not care. I couldn't even bribe them to attend.

Frustrating! Thanks for trying - we need more faculty, employees, alumni like you that at least make an effort to try and make the game experience better.

To Huff77.......Nothing new...When teaching @ ISU during the David Moss years I often asked how many are going to tonight's game????
In a class of 30 the response never exceeded 3 or 4. With a rare exception or two.....the seats designated for students are never filled.
The last time being ISU vs Creighton during the Odum/McDermott era??????? This is just a guess.......the overwhelming majority of
students couldn't tell you where Drake, Belmont, Murray State or Bradley are located. Am I wrong?????? For those who know non-sports students.....
go ahead and conduct your own quiz.......let me know the results.
Thanx in advance.

Yes, and an Administration that has done things that will do nothing to boost our enrollment.

A large percentage of students go home over the weekend so Mommy can do their laundry and Daddy replenishes the $$$.

I think most ISU students are a bunch of losers. Sitting around, playing on their phones wishing they could have gone to college at a big 10 school.

In an earlier post I mentioned that ISU was not the school of first choice for many of the students attending ISU.
I was told that I was wrong......so I did not mention it again..... Does anyone have any data regarding my earlier claim????
I would be interested.

I would tend to agree with that assessment honestly. ISU is likely only the first choice for local students from the Wabash Valley that want to stay close to home. I'd guess that the majority of out of town students that ultimately choose to come to ISU are doing so because they are receiving some sort of financial aid and ISU has the field they want to be in. That's not a diss on ISU either. I think most schools similar to ISU out there are in a similar position.

The teams we will be playing so far are:
USI
Tennesse St
@Ball St
@NIU
I can name 5 games we'll play. The only question is who the opponents will be. That leaves two more games to fill since we should have 11 NC opponents.

Buy game against P6 or A10
Multi team event (3 games)
Non-D1 school ☹️

Have we even tried to play PFW or restart IUPUI? Those would be much better games than Trinity Christian or Hanover or Oakland City?

I'd be fine with scheduling both of those schools. I honestly don't care who we play too much as long as they're D1, although there are certainly matchups that I like better than others (particularly ones against other regional mid majors).

This will P.O. some people (and I don't care), but I don't waste my time and money attending non-D1 games anymore. You either sit there and become somewhat bored because it's a 30 point beat down by halftime or you sit there frustrated because they can't put away a bunch of scrubs that couldn't sniff a D1 roster.

The real reason ISU schedules non-D1 games is because they are a really cheap home game to fill out the schedule, and the university hopes to draw in enough people to make a few bucks profit from ticket sales and concessions. It generally has nothing to do with not being able to find or play someone better.

ISU was my first choice. I stayed on-campus one week at IU during a summer camp and 2 weeks at ISU for summer honors (both high school things) so I had done considerable research into making a choice.. There was no question in my mind which was the better school for me.
