are those dates when the event usually is? I may go but thanksgiving day game isn’t ideal

We now have like 3-4 college basketball events happening that week and they all vary.

This one was called the Vegas 4 and it was the first year last year. They did Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday games so I'm not 100% sure Rocco has the dates right. Although it may be since they are expanding the field.

"The Dollar Loan Center" Arena. What a name for a Vegas arena LOL.

The amount that company has to make is insane considering these naming rights and they are literally every third commercial on damn near every radio station.

That arena is brand spanking new. Home to the VGK's minor league squad, an arena football league team, and the G League Ignite plays there. The amount of sports we've got in this town now is insane.

So schedule now is:
USI
Tennesse St
@Ball St
@NIU
IUPUI
Indy Classic (Ball State twice?)
@Alabama
Las Vegas TBD (NM, Pepp, Rice, Tol, UCI)
Las Vegas TBD
Las Vegas TBD

So we need one more game (not including the exhibition), and my guess would be a home game against a non-D1 school.

Last year, this Vegas tourney was available to stream for a fee on ballertv.com. So, prob the same for this year too.

I assume we are not playing Ball State twice but I'm not sure. Or if even counts toward our current contract.

FWIW they only have us on their current posted schedule once (in Indy). I was also unaware of the MAC-SBC challenge. I wish our league would get a challenge series going with someone again.

Rough. Amazing how just overnight mid-majors were essentially barred from playing the P5 in MTE's.

I still want the MVC to eventually move towards having 22 league games with a true double round robin. The non conference games in basketball don't mean much of anything to me, unless we're playing somewhat local schools.

Local schools??????? IU and U of I won't schedule us. Do you really want to play Purdue and get embarrassed like we have the last 2 or 3 times? ND is rebuilding so no positive there. Everyone goes nuts if we schedule USI. Do we really get anything out of a Ball St game now a days? that leaves you with Eastern IL ( Marty Simmons Ball BORING), VU, IUPUI or whatever they are called, and the other second tier or lower schools in Indiana and Illinois. I would much rather have another high mid major that has a following from outside our geographic region come in for a game. Bring back Creighton or Wichita State or one of the Florida Mid major like FIU or USF. They travel with big numbers and the potential to attract a televised game higher than on the internet. Besides, most of these teams are not as good as they think they are and we have a chance for a nice TV win.

Just out of curiosity here's a list of all of the schools we've faced the past 5 NC Seasons.

Maybe a better breakdown. Here's a list of those schools that we hosted at Hulman Center for a game over the past 5 seasons.

Green Bay (Horizon) X2
Ball St (MAC) X2
N Dakota St (Summit) X2
Trinity Christian (Non-D1)
N Illinois (MAC)
Hanover (Non-D1)
Miami Ohio (MAC)
Alabama A&M (SWAC)
Oakland City (Non-D1)
Coppin St (MEAC)- replaced by non-D1 Midway
UMSL (Non-D1) X2
Tennessee St (OVC)
Chicago St (Independent, might have been WAC)
McKendree (Non-D1)
Western Kentucky (CUSA)
Wright St (Horizon)
N Texas (CUSA at time)
Truman St (Non-D1)
Air Force (MWC)
U Indy (Non-D1)
Elon (CAA)
SE Missouri St (OVC)

Breakdown per conference:
NON-D1= 8 (32%)
MAC= 4 (16%)
HORIZON= 3 (12%)
CUSA= 2 (8%)
OVC= 2 (8%)
SUMMIT= 2 (8%)
CAA= 1 (4%)
MWC= 1 (4%)
SWAC= 1 (4%)
*MEAC= 1 (Note: Coppin St cancelled because of COVID and non-D1 Midway replaced them, but I'm counting that as a MEAC team since ISU originally scheduled Coppin St)

Oops. Forgot Chicago State. Throw out the Coppin / Midway Covid game and throw them in their place because I'll run out of time to edit this by the time I recalculate everything 😆.
