The Recruit Level
Just came across this on Twitter:

via twitter: @TribStarTodd "I can't report the details, yet, because I haven't had the right people confirm it, but I am working on a story that will have major implications on ISU athletics, particularly football. I hope to have the story ASAP."

I don't like the word "implications." Very ominous. Hopefully it's somehow good news.

I think it's safe to say that I'm looking forward to finding out what this is all about.

my secret sources are telling me that Indiana State (along with Notre Dame) are going to be asked to join the Big 10 to take them to 14 teams. With IU, Purdue, and Minnesota showing up on ISU's football schedule in the next several years it all makes sense now!

I was talking to an ol' Enquirer chum the other day who touched upon ISU joining the Big East, w/ Syracuse's JB a major supporter of the possible move.

Lol...they left a sealed letter to be opened by president Bradley officially inviting us to the big ten.

they're gonna let the football players start participating in track & field in the Spring!

I see you and your jokes. Maybe it's something really crazy like they are building a Jake Odum Statue in honor of Larry Bird lol!

Hahaha not a moment to soon...

Ima go out on a heavy limb and say its a track/football combined facility, they finally got smart and decided to do this thing right... We are talking about a multi million dolar project here if so. I'd say its a pretty safe bet at this point.

Or its something else... Maybe recruiting realted. Golden will share soon enough. He wouldn't say it would effect football more than anything else if it was a multi sport facility. Ima back track on that guess.

Who knows what they are talking about but I do remember hearing the plan was to NOT pair the track facility with the football stadium from the get-go because the seats are so far away from the field when a track is included. We'll take a new stadium anyway we can get it but I wouldn't be as thrilled if it was combined. My guess it is something else. C'mon, Mr. Golden, get on with it!

I just hope we don't go too small if this is in fact what the story is. I'm really hoping for a stadium that is expandable, starting with 15-20,000 seats, club seating, and boxes. Some of that seating, if done right, could be "hill seating" on grass so that stands wouldn't appear too empty if we "only" got 12,000 at a game.

If we're gonna spend the money, spend it with the intention of Sycamore Football and Track being relevant from here on out. Don't build a little 7,000 seat high school facility...

Of course, we could just be getting a new logo, too...

i'm pretty sure it's not combining a football field with a track. if you guys ever drive on first street, they are starting to take down the big old "icon" building and i'm almost positive they are building a track/soccer field there. (atleast i think soccer that would make a ton of sense). if they were starting construction on a football field, i'm sure one of us would of heard something about 12 months ago.
