Was Watkins going to play this year anyway? Disappointing to hear that either way. Hope it's nothing too serious.

good grief? really, already? The season hasn't even begun and a guy who was supposed to be a big target for Ronnie has already messed up?

Every team deals w/ these issues, hopefully this doesn't become a recurring theme. Someone talk some sense into those 2!

All I can say is THANK GOD! This is the very thing that gave this program a bad rep in the past, I mean everyone on campus from 2005-2009 HATED anything and everything to do with Sycamore football and for good reason - they were not held accountable for their actions! Thank you for holding these fellas accountable for whatever they did wrong - I don't even care what they did, it's just nice to know that they were held accountable.

Agreed! Let's hope this has everyone's attention and gets the point across to the entire team.

It's like this....who are Spencer and Watkins?

hahaha Spencer is the kid for Michigan State Gotta, he's legit and in my estimation (having never seen him play) a big loss - as he was a big time target for RF who struggled a little bit last scrimmage even with Spencer at wideout - I will throw it out as a bad day for Ronnie, he gets a pass. But hate to see him lose a set of hands from a Big Ten program, no???

Yea I can live without Watkins with Ronnie and Coy at the helm, but Spencer adds another major threat to a D forcing them to not double Hilton all the time....... Sigh....

Yeah spencer hurts....especially with riley out....but egberonge should be able to still make a big impact....he was hurt alot last year....he is a big target....fast with good hands and he plays hard....so I feel good with him in there....riston...goodlett has had a good camp......hilton...two very good te's....so we still have lots of weapons....they still can't double hilton this year...also...I think lawshe can step in and play....

He is still listed on the team roster and if he has transfered the school hasn't released any info. Guess we will find out in a week.....

Disappointing. Both of these guys transferred looking for fresh starts and got them thanks to Coach Miles. I honestly don't care what the infraction was, but this is akin to spitting in Trent's face IMO. Whatever they did, I hope they correct the behavior, apologize to the staff and teammates and make sure it doesn't happen again.

It's very hard obviously to find the transfers from BCS programs that come in with the right attitude. We have been very lucky with Ronnie. Hopefully these two realize that there are players on the ISU roster that could have been provided the same opportunities, but for whatever reason, wound up here. The non-starters at most BCS schools are no different than those at the FCS schools, but sometimes the attitude remains that they feel they should be considered "special". Good job by Trent and the coaching staff to send the correct message. I didn't see anything special that would or should result in an "attitude" about anything at the scrimmage. Prove it with the team that gave you a second opportunity--don't throw it in the toilet.

If goodlett transferred that would be a silly move with two senior wr and the possibilities of injuries. Isn't it too late to transfer? Hmm

I'm pleased to see Coach Miles taking a stand and holding the players accountable, but I was also very much looking forward to seeing what Spencer could do. He's a great weapon for Fouch, so hopefully he gets his act together and gets back on the field soon.

"Indefinitely" doesn't always mean they're missing games, but I imagine Spencer's not playing at Penn State.

Very true...often people think that indefinitely means forever...in actuality it means, for an undetermined amount of time.
