Saw that earlier, good interview. Godard said some of the same things that 'Biff' said in a recent television interview for Mo State, basically that it's all about listening and the student experience.

Enjoyed skimming Godard's cover letter for the ISU Prez position. He's the only candidate that openly talks athletics in his letter. No idea if he's the best choice, but I like that he included athletics in his cover letter.

That is called situational awareness. I think he is my leader right now. Really wish they recorded town halls with each and posted them.

Just out of curiosity, what were those of you who are so disappointed by this list hoping to see?

My impression (which could be wrong) was that some, myself included, were disappointed that 'Biff' Williams was no longer available, and ISU's super long candidate search seemed like a letdown.

After conducting brief research, I'm cautiously optimistic about the 3 candidates. Praying the best one for ISU at this point in time advances.

So there was a Q and A but I had to go pick up my kids after about 5 questions.
I didn't dislike the guy....talked a lot about having hard discussions, drew comparisons of us to NKU. Slide presentation was typical provost talk. Reminded me a bit of Licari. Says this would be his last job, believes in his past successes and can be successful here. Most of the questions today were faculty and academically oriented as this was the faculty session.

This picture of Dayton University’s president partying with students after they beat Syracuse in 2014 popped up on my Facebook memories today… How do we get the trustees to use this as the rubric for candidates?

Hey @Huff77 or anyone else on campus. Anything new on this front?
I haven’t heard anything too much about the first candidate Cecil. Perhaps that he would be a better VPSA than President. One thing I heard about Godard was that he is a big NO. But I also heard from another that he is their top choice.

Personally, I sat in on a student lunch with Phillips earlier this week. I wasn’t impressed by any means but I also wasn’t disappointed. I think it would be better for her to come back around on the next cycle with a little more experience as a presidential figure.

I heard lots of positives about Goddard from those that went to the meetings.
