IT's slow around here. So I thought it would be interesting to see who was the basketball Coach while you went to ISU. Personally I suffered through the last of the Ron Greene Era and had the pleasure to finish under and get to know Tates Locke!

This sort of makes me feel old... That we've gone through a couple head coaches since then is crazy to think.

Royce at the very beginning when I arrived on campus in 05'/06 and then Kevin McKenna until I graduated in 2010 when Lansing arrived that next season.

McKenna wasn't very well known or liked around campus from my recollection - it always seemed like this was a stepping stone for him and he wasn't all that personable. But that was a long time ago in my life I can't remember those years all that well tbh.

I started my time at State with the infamous "0-for-89" end of the Ron Greene era, followed by three years of Tates Locke! Entertaining, 'ol Tates was. Watched him throw his wallet and keys out on the court one time to get a T, trying to get his team to wake up. Also watched Kenny Rowan school the All-American forwards from Ball State (Kidd and McCurdy?) and then leave that game with what turned out to be a career ending injury.

Fun times...

The best part about Tates throwing his keys and wallet was his response to why he did it after the game. HE said the official stole everything else from us during the game why not his car and wallet. That earned him a 2 game vacation! That game and the Darin Liles fight were the best memories from that time sad to say

09-13. McKennas last year was my freshman year, then it was Lansing with a Odum the rest of the way. A beautiful time to be on campus

Dave Schellhase followed by Ron Greene. Every time one of us from WISU would interview Greene he would use the phrase “we are going to keep on keeping on.” My group of college friends will still drop that line on each other from time to time.
