He seems to be pretty consistent, shooting the free throw at a decent clip. I am surprised for a kid who appears to be so athletic that he doesn't have any more blocked shots than he has. You would think this kid would be getting at least 2 blocks a game? But if it aint his free throw shooting, it's his blocked shots and so on and so forth - life in a mid major program...

Walker is getting gooder and gooder. Note 13 reb and 19 pts and drew 13 FT's. the team lost this game, so not against weak competition. He's really picked up his scoring and rebounding since Jan 1.
 
Thanks for staying on top of this backer you are getting gooder and gooder. LOL! But seriously thanks, this guy seems like he could be a force in the middle for us next year. Since the belief on this board has been that the reason Brant plays is to eat up space, it looks like we will have a functional big that can eat up space next season! :pray:

How long has it been since we had a guy that size get off the floor that high? Looks like he will be comfortable playing in front of an empty house too. I say that tongue in cheek though as I expect that the quality of our play and the interest of the fans will pickup dramatically next season. It has to get better doesn't it?
 
Walker - A Disaster at the Free Throw Line

South Plains lost to Odessa by 11, 78-67. Walker got 15 points and 10 rebounds, However, he was 5 of 19 from the free throw line! How many of those were the front end of the one-and-one? Looks like opponets may be intentionally fouling him.

Fortunately, that can be remedied. Remember Harry's freshman year? He was atrocious at the line. Now, he's one of the best in the Valley. With some hard work and good coaching, he can become less of a liability at the line...or, at least no "hack-a-walker"...
 
I knew he was going to be a decent defender, but I've been pleasantly surprised by his offensive game. Needs to continue to refind his post moves, but so far, so good. Would love to see him use a McHale up and under move -- one of my favorite post moves ever.
