Register NOW to join our community of die-hard Sycamore fans.

Because the word family holds so much water in this great country we live in. Have you seen the divorse rate? Family and God don't hold near as much value as the once did.

But the "Sycamore Family" is a whole separate ball of wax...we can chew on each other to endless extreme during the season, then "lay back" and reload over the Summer w/o damaging lineage!:chess:

There is a reason we lost him. And yes he was totally committed to ISU before an unfortunate incident. I will say no more.

Well, F...art.
I doubt when a kid reads a lot of the posts that are on here that it helps too much. Some people are so negative and others insinuate rumors but don't back them all up. He sounded like the one recruit that was thrilled to be a Sycamore. I feel sad for him having to make this decision. It had to be tough after all the positives that he said. I hope that he is honest in stating that he will still consider ISU. I hope Lansing can really get to the core of the problem so it does not repeat itself.

Because "you" can use the word "we" as in Sycamore "family" and then not disclose such information, look I'm no Mod and what I say isn't the end all or anything like thay but don't come on here with somethig like that. Look I can probably find out pretty quick if I really cared to know why we lost kid yet he still says Indiana State is still an option... But for you to come on here with that, really?

Either share or sit at home knowing you know the reason and others don't. If you've got something to say then say it - because I will find out and I will post it either way.

Yeah and I would ask every recruit in the country to make his decision based on what a message board thinks. I know he and his dad and probably a lot of other parents/coaches/admins read this site. But no decision in life is made based on what is said on message boards.

And is this place negative? Yeah at times it can be - certainly no more negative than any other forum. Are rumors put on this message board? Yeah on occasion - I'd a say a lot of them have legs, more rumors posted with them than without.

Same goes to you as I said in the post above, if you've got something to say or add then add it. Let's not go around activing like X member was negative and it probably made X recruit not want to come here because if that was the case I wouldn't want X recruit to come here...

Note: X recruit is just a letter and not intended to be directed at any athlete at ISate with the letter X in his name.

Here is to hoping he goes to another Valley team as I sure would like to watch him play - had hoped it would be for IState and not against, but oh well as I've said many time you can only control what you can control and we on here are all just a bunch of fans - Sycamore "family".

He wouldn't be the first high school kid to change his mind. It's worth adding that Sycamore fans were excited about him coming here as any other recruit that I can remember - all I've heard is good things said about him on here.

I do not accept your challenge SSOM. What part of "I will say no more" don't you understand. It is best to leave it like it is but if you feel you must know then go for it.

I couldn't have gave two shits until you came on here and said well he was commited and now he is not - I mean what the hell kind of post is that. Obviously he is not commited - what about him opening up his recruitment would have insinuated other wise?

What part of I'm commited one day and not the next don't you think we don't understand around here - many of us have a very fine mounted and displayed (me like a 8 point whitetail) degree from this fine establishment many refer to as a University!

I would love to know what happened, as if recruiting wasn't hard enough, now an Indiana kid decommits and it looks terrible to others you are trying to recruit other kids ie Mack Mercer etc.

Every time I get excited about the future of ISU bball something like this happens. First Samuels needs another surgery, then Mahurin transfers, and now this news. Someone please tell me that there is a silver lining somewhere.

Not that SSOM (or anyone else on this message board for that matter) needs me to defend them, but that is pretty weak to come on and basically insinuate that there is some sort of dark cloud as a reason why he is no longer coming to Indiana State and then say, "I will say no more". Why bother? If you never plan to share the information, then why throw out the comment in the first place? Neither here nor there, and I really don't care what the reason is/was as I am in no position to fix it, but I do have to laugh at teenage/middle school stuff like that.

I wish Bryant the best in whatever decision he makes, and if he is not 100% committed to ISU than I would rather he move on. I don't want anyone coming here who feels he had to "settle" for State. If he wants something else and thinks he belongs at a bigger name or at another school that he would be more comfortable at, then so be it.

As for anyone who feels this message board is to hard on people or to cruel, all I can tell you is you should visit other message boards. I don't mean that in the "I'm ok because they are worse" kind of way, but things that I have read on other message boards make even the worst comments on this site very mild. I will give you one example....when Alex Etherington committed to us, I was browsing some of the K-State message boards to see if they had some old scouting reports, etc about his game. I don't remember which board it was (they have several devoted to KSU) but when he de-committed there were several posters who were outright nasty about him, saying that they were glad he was leaving because he sucked, etc and one person actually made a comment about how he was glad were weren't going to sign the kid because he was probably retarded/brain damaged from landing on his head in a game. I don't remember the exact wording, but it was bad and very cruel towards the young man. I can say in the 6 years I have been on this board, I have never seen anything even close to this type of comment being made.

In the end, when you are dealing with 15, 16 and 17 year old kids, things will happen that make you scratch your head, but life goes on. As much as I hate to have him go somewhere else, it is not something I have any control over and the staff doesn't have time to cry over spilled milk, time to go out and see who wants to be a Sycamore.

Best of luck to Bryant in his decision.

I haven't heard this but he looks like the type of player that UM would steal out of IN. He better be careful, though, he could get in over his head. I drove down to see him play some last year and I think ISU and the MVC is a good fit for him.

Michigan was sniffing around Mercer as well, the two of them could be planning on heading up North together I guess. Dunno, as you said, haven't heard that, but it was a thought that crossed my mind.
