This may be a dumb questions but if the current president is out in a few months, can the new president come in and resign Sherard Clinkscale and fix this contract blunder? JS will absolutely be in demand. It took serious guts for SC to hire JS in the first place. A big bargaining chip in keeping Schertz would be if we can keep Clinkscale.
Would HCJS agree to any change how hot he is? $$$$ rules.

The plus JS has his personality. Now, before certain jerkoffs on this site blast me, I’m just asking. Drake DeVries (spelling? Sorry), why hasn’t he been snatched up? Bradley Coach, same question? Let’s raise some money while he has The Haute in a frenzy, and make him a happy camper for now. And, I’m totally on board to (in addition to what I gave) giving more money to The NIL fund. For me, the money is worth it.

DeVries was a hot name last cycle. Will be again, especially since Tucker will be a senior next year. Brings instant offense with him if he were to bolt. His base salary at Drake is $630k so he is likely only going to jump for the right job.

If Ohio State decided to break that bank and go after Greg McDermott at Creighton, DeVries could be a big candidate there having spent 15+ years as his right hand man before getting the Drake gig. Another Midwest job that he could be a hot name for is Oklahoma State as I don't see how Boynton survives.

Ok, but all worries about losing JS before he earned his stripes, is absolutely premature at this point. I feel fans will write the check for a higher Mid Major Contract, but, we are who we are.

Coaches who’ve already spoken to DePaul about their coaching vacancy in some capacity per Trilly Donovan: Porter Moser, Bobby Hurley, Josh Schertz, Bryce Drew. The first four names listed in this article have been in contact with DePaul in some capacity. One already interviewed, one is trying to work through some contract hurdles and two of them will meet with officials from the school in the next week, per multiple sources."

“Spoke in some capacity” that could be a call “ Hi Josh we want to talk to you about our coaching vacancy” Josh- “ nope not interested thanks bye”. We don’t need to speculate or worry till after the season is done cause nothing will happen. Till this year is over. Enjoy this ride and what he is doing at ISU!

I wonder if HCJS is the "one trying to work through contract hurdles." Hopefully, because all the rest have either interviewed or are interviewing soon. I really hope that he isnt off interviewing when we are in the midst of our greatest season since '79.....that would be pretty shitty.

It’s crazy for me to wrap my head around the comment that one coach has already interviewed and others have been in contact. The timing of interviewing and contact in season while most names on this list have teams in contention for an NCAA tournament berth.

The coach with "contract hurdles" would be either Bobby Hurley or Will Wade.

I would take this article and it’s source(s) with a HUGE grain of salt.

Might be a few nuggets of truth in it. Doubt there is much more to it than that.

Hurley would only be interested because he may get let go at ASU and Will Wade just wants a P5 job.

JS and Bryce Drew would be insane to leave their current positions for DePaul. Unless they are just miserable where they are currently.

Pretty sure Will Wade JUST signed a new long term contract.
I took that to mean the university exercised an option on his contract that he wasn't necessarily thrilled about. Hence "trying to work through contract hurdles"

Contracts are pretty meaningless if you throw money around anyway. Remember Dana Altmans 1 day as the Arkansas coach?

Also, he took our job before his LMU season ended. Wouldn't want that distraction right now. Almost all of what I've heard is he wants to build and sustain here. He going to run it back here.

Fingers crossed🤞I feel he wants to not only keep building our program but also desires SUSTAINABILITY which has been a problem in the past. Let's hope!!

With him losing only one puzzle piece due to graduation, I would think he's good for at least one more year...the band is back together minus Jabo for 2024-25...he believes this is a special group (we do too, coach!!).

SSOM and others have said it best...let's just enjoy the hell out of the NOW and hopefully brighter minds will work on the future of STATE basketball.

It's being worked on... People on here are informed enough and we've discussed it enough that people should rest easy knowing it's being addressed. Both his salary and the NIL fund. A lot of different people - both those employed by Indiana State and fans/donors are working really hard to make it happen.

If anyone is reading this and is really concerned about the future of the program, about his future here about Indiana State - just ask what can I do to help. Create a thread and say I'm here to help - I will volunteer my time to solicit donors, get silent auction items, call on businesses, sell tickets to future NIL fundraising events, attend events etc. etc.

I think it's a symbiotic circle - coach will keep the players, and the players will keep the coach. I think they're very well aware that they have a chance to do something very special here, not only this year, but absolutely next year as well.
