Best news of the weekend! Really wanted Vorst to return! When healthy, was encouraged to see his progress this past season, & can become so much better.

Wishing DV a great off-season: Increased physical resilience (staying healthy) with typical off-season skill improvement = very impactful Sycamore player next season.

Related topic: Vorst returning makes me hope even more that JD will develop the lateral quickness to play the 4 spot b/c I'd love Vorst to average 20+ minutes, if healthy & after a productive off-season.

Agree with all, he will need an 'upper classman' haircut (or a headband). Looks soft to blow hair out of ones face following a massive 2 handed slam.

One of the most interesting things to watch next year is how JD does at the 4. Renn at PU is going bonkers scoring inside from the 4. Their 5 stays out of his way.

You mean I inferred Renn is a 4?

The comp is Renn is a 4 and scores exclusively inside like JD does. The comp is the center does not have to get in the way. The comp is JD does not have to play the 5 to do what he does best.

If you and I having discussions on here were a boxing match… I would be Iron Mike and you would be everyone else. 🤣

Really glad Vorst is back. The kid has to be healthy though. And get a haircut.

This puts Harding in a very particular position. Even with both back we had to go get an impact 5. An impact 5 is probably the toughest position for a mid-major to portal for so I'm not even sure how realistic getting one is.

Do we just ride with Vorst, Harding, JD and try to load up really good guards?

Do we try to bring in an impact 5? Easier said than done.

Do we bring in a true 4 that could possibly play the 5 with JD in?

I think it kind of depends on Daughtry and what we want/need him to do next year. A lot of the early follows in the transfer portal are 4/5 types, similar to JD. Can we get away with playing a smaller lineup provided we surround JD with another rebounder and plus-defender? If so, we try and grab one of those guys and a couple of really good guards, and we can probably get away with a bench of Vorst and Harding if and when we need to play big.

I don't see Vorst on the bench much.

Well, I hope you’re right. In that case he will have significantly improved his conditioning, speed, health and issues with fouling. All are possible, but based on what we know it seems difficult to believe we’re going to rely on Vorst for 25+ minutes a game.

This will be a very important offseason for him.
