Thinking bout a potential red shirt for Merritt Alderink. He can only appear in 3 more games and qualify for a red shirt if my math is correct. Think it’s something you have to consider if he is on board.

I believe the NCAA opted against mirroring the football redshirt rule this past rules session.

I read somewhere earlier today that it is being challenged and if the courts are going to get involved, the ncaa will cave. This deal with JUCO seems ridiculous. I think the better option is that if you go JUCO and play both years you can compete 3 years at Division 1 or 2. That keeps it in the 5 year period.

Agreed. The NCAA has literally no power of college athletics anymore and basically is operating in spirit only. Honestly, you could just view them as a pass through shell entity that collects the media revenues and distributes them at this point.

Pretty sad. I miss the days when being in a conference meant something other than $. Win the conference and you advance to tournament. Now it's all about getting everything possible and screwing over everyone else.

Did I miss it in another thread why Vorst and Gray didn’t play Wednesday? Vorst could have been a matchup issue, and it’s always something with Gray. He must have the worst luck.

Didn't Coach say Gray and Summers were day-to-day? I think Vorst has a problem in the depth chart when Daughtry is playing the 5.

Gray is still out from ankle injury from the Bahamas. It was bad ankle sprain. Vorst still getting in shape and unfortunately he’s 3rd on the depth chart now behind Harding and JD.

You are correct wrt UHSP... if they are NOT, then they are USCAA...

pretty sure they recruit the players AFTER they've enrolled in classes
Guy who I taught with was a soccer player playing at a small, private college in New Jersey. When soccer season was over, the basketball coach approached him and asked him if he'd like to be on the basketball team. Dude replied, "I'm barely 6 feet tall and an average "pick-up" game player...why me"?

Coach replied, "Cause you're from Indiana....EVERYBODY in Indiana can play basketball, right"?

TRUE story...and he declined the invite.
