If we don't play better "D" than was shown v. Ball Sate, it'll be a 20+ pt blowout loss...

If we're lucky, we might catch the Bruins looking forward to Sunday's NC game...and playing w/ little passion.

Defense against Ball State was not good, effort was ok for the most part, technique was not very good at all

Technique. Ya think? Does our coaching staff watch game film at all? Where is our BIGS coach? Would someone please tell Jake to stop that ridiculous block-out thing that he does around the basket for positioning. Watch him....when a ball is shot, whether ours or theirs, he keeps backing up, and backing up, and backing up, trying to make contact with someone from the opposing team.....to supposedly...BLOCK THEM OUT.

While doing so, he looses his natural court position. Our opponents are watching film, and they know his tendency for baby-back-stepping (nyuk). Consequently, opposing players do not make contact with Jake, knowing his proclivity for back-pedaling on rebound position.

Think about the great rebounders. Were they constantly moving step-by-step backwards? Hell no, they found a natural position and they stayed in it, offensive rebound after defensive rebound.

There are synergies in balls coming off the board and rim...if he would learn just to stay where he is, THE BALLS WILL COME TO HIM...traversing backwards on every shot, two to five feet......they won't.

P.S. With his size...probably the tallest and biggest player in the MVC....he should be feared, dominant, and ALL MVC....not some guy that takes up space and fouls out every game. Someone please, bring out the talent in this kid before his career is over!!!

Official timeout at 15:32. All tied up at 8.

Feels like we're not shooting well but at 50%. A couple shots have been long and some just off. Need Jake to get more aggressive. Belmont students are chanting 5-on-4 anytime he has the ball in his hands.
