No but seriously. Just because ya all don’t hear about it publicly I’ve got a feeling a lot of high level conversations are already happening behind closed doors. It makes sense to me that they’re trying really hard to get out ahead of this with or without football. They can raise a couple hundred thousand a year over 5 years for JS in a heartbeat. So you could envision them bringing his overall compensation package well over $600k… New President and AD promises him a practice facility in the next 3-5 years. It’s not the worst case scenario. These are the good days my people - enjoy it!

Because as much as football should be gone I don’t see it happening anytime soon and the last handful of football alums I’ve brought it up to directly - because I don’t hide behind the keyboard on this shit. They can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet. Translation - it’s probably the right thing to do as much as we will hate it.

Don’t know any of you, but I think we can all agree that we want the University to be great at everything. Love the passion but the argument never stops. What we need to do is support all athletes of all sports that we have. We have what we have until we don’t. The truth of it all, Money is the issue. We need more state support, we need more alumni funding and we need Jeff Bezos. If we donated 1 dollar for every time this goes down a dumb rabbit hole and pointless argument we would have it all.

I guess I took it the wrong way. I thought he was complementing you for being a loyal fan, sticking up for what you believe even while your attention was split between ISU and your grandson. Of course only he knows for sure.

IMO ISU football remaining in the MVFC isn't sustainable. If the program remains there it will continue to be a loser until the end of time unless ISU invests a ton of money that they don't have into the program. The program seriously needs to be moved over to the OVC where it is actually capable of being competitive on a regular basis. The MVFC has outgrown ISU and is basically FBS with an FCS label. The computers even projected that SDSU would have won the Big Ten West this past season.

No I don’t I just didn’t have the time to research what Jason had researched to get back to him. I was at my grandsons basketball game. SSOM, you know more than anyone at ISU getting rid of football Won’t solve nothing. At The end of The Day, we are just Indiana State. Ya, amazing baseball and basketball for sure, but let’s get rid of football, and maybe SEC will ask us to join? Come- Fucking -On?

BobbyK the only real argument for keeping football is that if you get rid of football it likely means marching band is gone & I like having the band at basketball games. Let that sink in. I’d rather have a band at this point than a nothing football program.

But it won’t solve anything if they don’t have a President and AD that are aligned - you’re right about that. Right now we have neither. But I was calling for football to be cut before maybe anyone on here - before it was even okay to say out loud.

I don’t think anyone is thinking about joining the SEC obviously… But I think you look at Wichita State, Creighton and Loyola’s of the world - maybe even a Butler. And we can find some blueprints to follow. I think you’ve also seen this season especially that Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley will get behind a winning program in a big big way. That should be pretty eye opening to folks no matter how you feel about football.

But some people don’t want to let go of the football dream - think it’s a fabric of D1 athletics. Ignoring the fact that D1 and D1AA are not the same. And I get it. I’m not here to change anyone’s mind at this point. Honestly, if you haven’t figured it out at this point taking everything into consideration (facility, university finances, the programs history, other opportunities for reallocation of $$ etc etc) then I’m not changing anyone’s mind.

I don't see how Louisville doesn't make a change. I fully expect Boynton to get shitcanned at Oklahoma State. Just turned that game off it was so embarrassing. Ohio State is pretty likely considering the vote of confidence for Holtmann was the AD saying we'll evaluate the rest of the season. Probably Ford at SLU, too.

One more I'm watching now after he trashed his team during a presser is Cronin at UCLA.
