[Offered/Committed Elsewhere] '21 IN PG Luke Brown (Stetson)

WANTED: Passionate Sycamore Fanatics. That You?

Many were really surprised he chose to go out of state, I knew he'd probably never wind up a Sycamore, but thought he'd wind up at Ball State, or at least somewhere in Indiana. He's got a very loyal fanbase that would have followed him to his games had he stayed here in Indiana. Stetson though is an odd choice. Best of luck to him though, he will be their version of Larry Bird.

That may have been his only actionable offer from what he had listed. Offers aren't infinite... If schools offer 5 guards and have 2 spots, if you want a spot, you need to take it. Sounds like he got burned for waiting on a bigger fish that never came. It happens every cycle.

What an interesting thread... 10 pages for a kid that committed to Stenson of all places.

At least we will not get weekly updates on how he is performing now - unless you know people here want to keep us up-to-speed on how is college career goes.

Got to admit, this exact thought crossed my mind. When was the last time we had a ten page thread devoted to a kid who played in the Atlantic Sun conference? My guess is that it has been awhile.

What’s equally interesting is that you appeared to be sick of hearing updates on a kid that may have been your best 2021 recruit

First of all - that is not likely the case but you can go ahead and think that if you want I could care less... He's going to play college basketball good for him - not many kids get that opportunity and I couldn't be happier for the kid.

And I'm less sick of hearing about Luke Brown and more sick of the same members year after year clamor over things that they didn't need to be overly excited about in the first place. So basically nothing to do with Luke Brown - but stay interested!

My bad ....it sounded like it was directed at the excitement on this thread ...If it was a result of a recurring issue I missed your meaning. I’m new on here so I hadn’t observed it being an issue. I would much rather he be at isu than Stetson for what it’s worth

Hell I would rather him be here too - although I'm just not sure the accuracy of him being our best recruit of his class... But me being "not sure" is really the way every fan should approach mid major recruits - it's about the least sure thing as you will find in sports.

It's fun to get excited and project and look to the future - fans do it in all sports. Often times on here (in the past) fans have gotten overly excited about a certain player and usually doesn't work out real good. For instance - in this particular thread look how many times Larry Bird is referenced. Look how many times - no parallels should have ever been made but it's just what we do here.

I think 10 pages of content for 90% of the kids we take a look at is a little much. Having been around here for awhile I would say 10 pages indicates a little too much hype based on the live games I was able to catch on youtube. But generally - my annoyance is more at the members who continually over hype players and not the player themselves.

Understandable sorry again .

and I actually think your comment is spot on. That’s why I said “ May be”
Your best recruit from this class. There is no way to predict at that level which you stated very well.

Begs some questions however....

Is he immediately eligible to play?
Do we have a scholarship available?
Why'd he choose Stetson in the first place? (their gym is barely high school sized)

good questions, wonder if he'd be like neese was and half to set out a half year? I think I read he chose Stetson because he felt a better connection with the coaching staff there as opposed to the other visits he took.

regardless, I'm sure we'll see soon where he winds up, whether it's ISU or not? Could very well be Ball State since it's right in his backyard there
