Not sure he really fills a need for us. I would prefer a bigger athletic type wing/big that can rebound and block shots but that's just me. On the other hand, how would you turn down a local kid who's an Indiana All-Star.....that's even if he wants to come here. Sure wish we had kept Miller's scholly open.

I am not sure you ever want to turn down a talent like that, but he certainly doesn't fill the need we have for a stretch 4.

His "changed circumstances" likely involve his father, whose coaching contract was NOT renewed in Mid-April. Both Hart's are now probably trying to leverage a "2 for 1" deal w/ a school.

Saw UCF landed a pretty talented transfer a day or two before all of this. That's a change in circumstance

Hard pass.
interested in this take.

If it comes down to what we need in our last scholarship then I'd have to agree. We are pretty deep at the guard/wing position so I can see where its just not a position fit right now.

But at the same time, the kid can play. Would you rather have another solid guard or another Dearon Tucker because he fits a position need for a season? I follow the "their is always exceptions to the rule" mindset. And Hart is an exception: Local kid, big following, talented enough, very small risk for a potential big reward. Just curious if there is something more to your "hard pass" statement other than position fit

Don’t even get me started on that…..

I don’t understand it either. The kid could be a starter day 1. At the very least one of the first off the bench.

Is this the "change in circumstances" UCF player? You'd need a GPS to follow his track record. Hart made the right decision...

Pretty simple… Judging from afar (which is dangerous) with everything his dad has going on I think it would be best for the kid to get as far away from Indiana as he can get. His dad has made a mess of things and needs to get right. It took away from a really special season his team had and he personally had.

Second - I think we already have plenty of depth at his position and guys that quite frankly are similar players. How many guys that fit that bill physically and athletically and that are coaches sons do we need? I like the “coaches son” thing when evaluating until every single player we talk about is a “coaches son”. A bit over the top at this point.

Three - We really need a backup to Robbie. That isn’t a fabricated need. It’s an actual need. We had plenty of games last year when JS went away from Robbie completely and rode McKnight. We need depth at other positions…

Fourth - we talk about not wanting anymore D2 kids. Class A basketball vs D2? Give me the D2. I feel like if you’re going to be okay with a class A Indiana kid then you sorta need to give the JS D2 narrative a rest. You can’t have it both ways.

I’ve not once said the kid can’t play here… He most definitely can play at this level. It’s not about his game for me.

I cannot disagree with any of this.

I would not use the last schollie on the young man only because we have needs elsewhere.

However if it works out and he does come here you won’t hear me complain.

But leaving one program is a long way from joining this program. Could be related, probably isn’t.

Fun to talk about I suppose though.
