wow, what a GREAT story, we all need to write to this guy again and thank him for doing a great job on this reporting!

It is a great article...very happy to see it. I would think it might lead to some media coverage this weekend...we will see

Read that and tell me it doesn't put a tear in your eye! Wow. Now - forward this to everyone in your email address book...post it on your Facebook...Tweet it!!! EVERYONE should read this..especially the haters! Go State!!!!

Love reading stuff like this... What a great story!!! Mark me down as someone who didn't believe it was possible, mark me down as someone who was ready for the program to be totally done away with - I've got no shame in saying that. Before Trent was brought here I was an athlete at Indiana State and I've said it before the football team had the worst possible reputation. I know people today that still won't/don't support the football team because of what they used to be. Now that's on them, because the quality of student athlete we have today is a far cry from what it used to be. It's yet another example of how far this program has come. Good for them - thanks for giving me a reason to believe, thanks for giving me a reason to cheer. Thanks for putting Indiana State football on the map for something other than the not to illustrious title of being the worst in America. Thanks for making me proud to be a Sycamore!!!! :sycamores:

Did I miss it or did he mention that this coming week is homecoming? Not trying to tell him his business, but that sure would have helped us get some more media coverage.

I had HAPPY tears in my eyes 1/2 way thru the article...yes, I forwarded this to all I know who could comprehend its value!

A great, big thank you to LoyalAlum for making Mr. Couch aware of his story from two years ago. Without LA's email to him, this doesn't get done. See? We can all have an impact in a small way. And sometimes, that leads to bigger things!!!

A few things in there are slightly exaggerated, but definitely a great story! We all know how far the program has come though. My how far it has come.

Excellent article and coverage! Easy to look back and see some other things that could have been added (Football team winning the MVFC APR improvement award, having academic all americans the last 2 years, at least a mention of a few of the seniors or 5th year seniors who spent the time and effort...) but this is the best coverage and endorsement of the program I've read since we became Sycamore fans four years ago!

Take some time to post this to your Facebook, Twitter it, E-mail it do whatever you have to do to spread the word. It's an article worth reading, it's not just about Indiana State Football - that's all fine and good, it's about rising above all odds and doing it the right way - the Indiana State Sycamore way!

Anyone else read this part?

By late in the first half Saturday, he already had 148 yards. But he took a cheap shot to his head late in the half and had to leave the game for good.

How else do you purpose that UNI tackle Bell? He's bouncing off tackles left and right, if you don't finish your tackles he'd still be running. The hit (according to Bell) wasn't even enough to take him from the game. He practiced on Monday - the flag was thrown end of story. It's already been established on this heavily bias board that it was a dirty hit, I disagree - I don't think that he tried to hurt Bell. I think he was trying to make a play and in doing to he made a football mistake. I never played the game I don't know - seems like a fast game to me, seems like you could go in helmet to helmet on someone like Bell without malicious intent and actually end up making a malicious play???

Just pointing out that someone from outside of ISU fandom made that comment is all.. Don't want to hijack the thread... should have posted in the other thread... Let's take all new comments on this subject to the other thread, so that we don't take anything away from this..

Thanks for sharing a great story that shows the pride now in the university. Can only hope it grows. Would be great if the Star and the Tribune-Stat picked up these articles and ran them.
