I'm so happy to see we're already in regular season form!

This schedule is the tits. While I'd like to see more home games, this is the best schedule we've put out in quite a while. Getting two power 5 games, regardless of who we play in exhibition, is a significant achievement for the staff.

Well, if it's the tits then I like it. Who doesn't like them?

Just saw the BallDawgs site has updated their sections. If you're coming the ISU section is being shared with Florida State and is Section 16.

Tix in the red box are $49/each and the rest are $29/each. They are sold per daily session.

after watching an exciting regular season come to an agonizing close yesterday I saw some things on twitter about the 23-24 schedule.

We host Southern Indiana and Tennessee State and play at Ball State (assuming that series continues).

I'm sure we'll host a non D1 opponent

Hopefully we'll play in a holiday tournament (3 games). Maybe we can play a BCS school in a buy game? Purdue seems to not mind scheduling us. IU definitely won't schedule us.

anyone see any other info? Really looking forward to next year already despite the fact we'll play in a post season tournament this year.

Hopefully the marketing team at ISU will be smart enough to build on the momentum created by this years' team to sell more season tickets for the 23-24 season.

What does everyone think about the record coming out of that?

For me, feels like best case scenario feels like 8-3 and worst case scenario is 5-6? We do have some unknowns, but I'd expect Robbie to take a giant step forward (the whole your biggest jump is between Freshman and Sophomore year mantra) and both Swope and Conwell are getting some significant national praise. If JL can build on his improvement from last year, we suddenly have 3 very good guards which is what makes MM ball tick usually.

I'd argue this is our best non-conference schedule since 2016-2017 when we played #21 Iowa State, Stanford, Utah State and #15 Butler. Though the Iowa State and Stanford games were by virtue of an MTE.

This year, having two P5's that are not included in an MTE is impressive scheduling.

I think we need to EXPECT the following wins...
SMWC (ahem)
IUPUI
Pepperdine
NIU
USI
Tennessee State

We can absolutely beat...
Rice
Ball State

Would be nice to beat...
Toledo

Not impossible but let's be realistic...
Alabama
Michigan State

Does a Pomeroy Pummeling gain the Trees anything? I know they've elevated their programs to NAIA level but that's essentially a NCAA Div II win... if the Trees win

Ask Sycamore 96.
According to the NAIA website NCAA D2 and NCAA D3 schools on average spend 70% more on athletics than NAIA schools. NAIA schools do offer athletic scholarships though, so on a comparison to NCAA divisions, I would consider them maybe the equivalent of Division 2.5.

There are also NCCAA schools. They are divided into D1 (scholarships) and D2 (non-scholarships). Then there's the NCJAA which is divided into 3 divisions. D1 and D2 have scholarships while D3 doesn't, just like the NCAA.

Basically this is how I think the different divisions across the various associations would rank competitively. ISU should never play anyone lower than D2.

NCAA D1
NCAA D2
NAIA
NCCAA D1
NCAA D3
NJCAA D1
NJCAA D2
NCCAA D2
NJCAA D3

I will say that if Rose Hulman and St Mary of the Woods ever played each other that would probably be a somewhat entertaining matchup. Once you get below D2 the differences in the various levels is pretty minimal.

I hope we don’t lose to NIU again, I’ll be at game and they aren’t very good. We absolutely sucked last year and a dude went off for like 40 pts

We don’t play well against very athletic teams. Never have really that’s why Missouri State has always had our number. Hope we can turn that around though.
