    to help ISU be successful.....

great read from TG in the TH paper about his trip to North Dakota and what they've done to promote their school. http://www.tribstar.com/sports/local_story_308234026.html and the full interview w/ the TH Mayor http://blogs.tribstar.com/downinthevalley/?p=115

    ISU FB Coverage: Indianapolis (area)

anyone else notice what little coverage ISU football receives in the greater Indy area? Very little coverage in the Indy Star, very little, if any/or ever, on the local 1070 the fan radio show(s). ISU is perhaps the poorest performer in all levels of college football and the local media...

    ISU FB in North Dakota

I wonder when they flew up? Anyway, down 7-0 early, but they have already forced the bye-zun to punt in the 1st quarter. Golden is blogging for those interested http://blogs.tribstar.com/downinthevalley/?p=114 this could possibly be a blowout of epic proportions too.

    ISU vs. Indianapolis

if anyone goes to today's game give us a recap on how ISU does. Hard to believe BB season is here!

if you're an ISU, odds are you're bad at FB

came across this interview link in the Fargo paper today. Golden was interviewed by the Idaho State writer. Idaho State has the 2nd longest losing streak (I think) behind Indiana State in I-AA FB. Also, Iowa State, the other ISU, is just as pathetic, having lost a bunch of games in a row too...

    future ISU FB schedules

ok, so Golden did some research and apparently ISU is playing at Louisville in 2009, but the Tulsa game is off, so right now ISU has one I-A game scheduled in 2009. Plus I would assume (as mentioned in another thread) that EIU will come to ISU in 2009. So that leaves one more game to be...

    ISU vs SDSU

Took six minutes for the South Dakota to score its first touchdown. That seems like progress, sort of. I find it crazy that the game day stories at Tribstar.com and gosycamore.com do not list the start time for the game. If you think I'm crazy please go and check for yourself. Prove me wrong...

    Indy Star....can ISU revive FB

article in today's star on the state of ISU FB http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081017/SPORTS0606/810170444/1068/SPORTS06

'09 G Jake Odum verbals to ISU

commits to ISU today. Didn't realize he was on the radar. Local kid

    ISU at Western Illinois

I was hoping someone else would start this topic, but it seems interest in ISU FB is waining given the fact that men's and women's BB practice starts this weekend. This is ISU's 2nd of 3 straight homecoming games. Regardless, the 2 questions I ponder are: 1. Will the Donaldson kid from WIU...

    ISU at SIU

OK, dare I ask to start the discussion on what to expect in ol Carbondale? I really don't know what to say thus far. I guess keeping them under 50 and us scoring a TD is improvement? Is getting a win down there too much to ask/hope/expect?
  12. ISUCC

    ISU at Southern Illinois

sadly this game has history written all over it, as in this could be the worst blowout in Gateway history. Right now it's at 62 points which was set last season. This could be really ugly. And it's on TV to boot. I expect ISU won't score and SIU could put up anywhere from 80-100 points or...

ISU football?s leading scorer is fairly new to game

Believe it or not, Indiana State?s leading scorer in football never played the sport until 2007. With the Sycamores struggling to produce consistent offense during their 0-5 start this season, walk-on freshman Braulio Martinez has kicked three field goal in four attempts and three extra points...

    ISU NCAA stats

really should come as no surprise, but ISU ranks last or near last in many NCAA stats after the first 5 games. they're dead last in scoring offense and scoring defense, which of course, makes sense. http://web1.ncaa.org/football/exec/rankingSummary?org=305&year=2008&week=6
  15. ISUCC

    ISU vs Illinois State

ok, time to move on to Saturday's game vs. Illinois State ISU game notes are up... GAME NOTES "Drive killer" still #1 on the QB depth chart, hopefully "the future" will see some playing time this week too. Illinois State has a prediction thread going on their message board, they think this...

ISU football notebook: Sycamores still trying to learn how to win

Indiana State football coach Trent Miles put it in the most blunt terms possible. When a program like ISU?s has lost 18 in a row and 42 of its last 43 games, who among the Sycamores is going to know how to handle winning time when the Sycamores have scant experience in any close games? More...

ISU opens home slate with optimism

When one observes Southeast Missouri State?s statistics from the standpoint of what Indiana State?s football might be able to exploit, there?s plenty of evidence to suggest the Sycamores might have a shot to win its first game in the Trent Miles era when ISU opens its home slate against the...

    ISU vs SEMO

ok, so ISU finally has a game (at home even) against a team that should be an equal. Both are among the 5 worst teams in all of college FB, any division. So, what can we expect this weekend? 1. Can the ISU offensive line give Schmidtke and Dowdell enough time to throw some good, accurate...

NIU hands ISU its 17th consecutive loss

Northern Illinois football coach Jerry Kill has been in Indiana State coach Trent Miles? shoes. Perhaps more so than any other coach ISU will face this season, Kill has an inkling of how ISU feels after it suffered its 17th consecutive loss, a 48-3 setback at the hands of the FBS-level Huskies...

ISU football focuses on fixing offensive mistakes

The Indiana State football team had a lot to feel good about even though it lost 38-3 on Saturday at Eastern Illinois, but the one thing that undeniably hurt the Sycamores and made the Panthers? margin of victory much larger than it would have otherwise been, were mistakes by the offense. More...
