Stephen F Austin's board voted to join the Texas (UT-Austin) system very recently, so never say never. If ISU were ever taken over by IU, Purdue, or someone else then I'd be done too. I want nothing to do with either one of those schools.

Some of you on here are on the Alumni Board. Have they considered a resolution or declaration about all of this?

Are they retaining their organization but just turning over business operations?
Oof. I thought SFA was a cool school name.
Sorry my post was late to the party. I meant the Alumni Board drafting a no-confidence resolution. Why haven’t they done that?I have never heard anything like this in any meetings I’ve been a part of… Terre Haute - specifically Union Health has always had similar rumors surrounding IU Health acquiring them which has never really come close to happening. That was a little more reasonable too considering that IU Health had inked similar deals with other independent hospitals in the state.
So to hear somewhat similar speculation is really not all that surprising I guess - I think Indiana State’s enrollment struggles sort of open them up to that sort of wild speculation. I’m being nice for those of you just openly discussing the possibility like it’s something we should be talking about.
But again - that’s as far as I am willing to go because I’m literally not entertaining this beyond what I’ve already said.
What about PU-TH???I don’t believe we will ever see the day… I’m not even willing to entertain it. I will only say If it’s ever IU anything or whoever anything for that matter you can all kiss my support goodbye forever.
What about PU-TH???

It'll make the news. It will apply pressure to the BOTs. It will give alums that are disillusioned with ISU right now feel like they have a voice. It will put the Prez and her admin on notice that the Alums aren't messing around. It will show ISU admins they can't just do what they want without consequences. So on and so on.....Has this ever been done in the past? What gives you the idea that doing so will be effective?
Is this included in the Democrat ethos? Look at the bios of the BOT's... I sent an E-mail to an ol' Gradute classmate in the Summer of '78. I'd forgotten his Party...an "almost Governor" who is now counsel for ICEMILLER and is NOT familiar w/ his alma mater? Whatever happened to his Sandbornism?Sorry my post was late to the party. FRED, I have to confess I’m totally unaware of the issue involving the ISU baseball team in the college World Series. I’ve spent the last two weeks visiting family out west. Sorry.
Since the 2016 election and Indiana’s turn to the far right, I have not been actively engaged in government and have spent my time focused on my law practiced. And because of the overwhelmingly Republican control of state government, I know virtually, no one, other than the governor, a handful of legislators and I know virtually no county officials anymore.
In fact, I have not even met the ISU president. I don’t even have any idea who’s on the board of trustees. Afraid I don’t have the connections you may think.
I have not been in touch with Dr. Maxam in a number of years. I regret it deeply , and last I knew he was living in Hendricks County.
Respectfully, John.

As a Terre Hautean, you just don't get it, do you? He's counsel for IceMiller and "unengaged?" Naww...he's just a Hoosier Democrat playing the game. This situation will only be "moved forward" politically, regardless of your Scott School of Business "insight." Btw, what loss estimates are being "tossed around" by the School of Business re: ISU's "giving away" the Super Regional? I ve only seem Patterson's broad stroked guess of 250k to 750k.Wait... So John took the time to send you a sincere personal e-mail and you just put him on blast on a public form? Why? What does it do? Tells us that John Gregg is an unengaged - uninfluential alum that is not willing to help? Oh great - so he's like 95% of our alums we don't need an e-mail from to tell us what we already know.
I don't get it. I mean I doubt he wants his entire e-mail shared with the public - it wasn't earthshattering either way so I just don't understand what this does to move the conversation forward?

First of all, it wasn't YOUR e-mail, so don't try to stuff your bullshit down my throat. And if you think THIS Board aligns w/ your positions on every topic, you've got a lot of growing up to do.
