I see someone is still incapable of putting together a cognitive argument, and the GO TO is to attack me personally. So childish.
Please, say again how MBB is BEYOND football. lol! How many times has the MBB program SOLD-OUT the HC in FIFTY YEARS?
As you've obviously suffered a number of TIAs, you're not capable of comprehending any discussions, cognitive or otherwise but ponder this:
MBB and football were established in the same year or consecutive years, in that time, the football program did NOT field a team for 14 season, possibly 16 in a Pre-COVID environment.
The football team has a cumulative record of 405-599-23 (.400) with four post-seasons (1948, 1983, 1984 and 2014) with a record of 2.4 (.333). The football program shares a conference title from 1964.
In reviewing all of the football coaches in ISU history, only 3 coaches with tenures of 4-yrs or more have a overall winning record - 3.
I've yet to find any former player or coach associated with the football program in the College Football Hall of Fame.
The MBB program has a cumulative record of 1,563-1,344 (.538) with 28 post-season berths; the MBB program has 1 national title, 4 national finals finishes, 2 additional 'national final four' berths, has won 12 conference titles, 3 conference tourney titles; of all of the MBB coaches, there are 9 with tenures of 4-yrs or more and a winning record. At least two people (former coaches and/or players) are in the College Basketball Hall of Fame; there are at least three people (former players or coaches) who are in the Naismith Hall of Fame.
